Rob Chapman and Phil Cliff started their
apprenticeship at Rolls Royce Motor Cars in 1980. After completing 4 years
training they became skilled coachbuilders. They moved to the woodshop and
after a year's initial training they became part of the veneering team,
here they were involved in all aspects of the veneering processes involved
in the production of Rolls Royce and Bentley interiors. Their last 2 years
at Crewe, Rob and Phil used their skills to create innovative interiors
alongside Mulliner Park Ward on special commissioned cars. In 1997 they
took advantage of the early release scheme to carry on their own business
full time.
Chapman and Cliff was set up in 1994 and was run part time in premises rented by Phil's relative. The business was mainly car woodtrim restoration but now covers all areas of veneering and lacquering. In 1997 they moved to their own premises where they still trade from. |
